Triple Cheesy Sloppy Joe Pasta

Sounds interesting doesn't it?  I have to admit, I was a little skeptical about this recipe when I randomly thought up the idea while going through my pantry.  I try to go through my pantry at least once a month and use things that we haven't used before I go grocery shopping again.  That's how this recipe came about.

I was trying to come up with something that was quick and easy for dinner, when I spotted a jar of Ragu Double Cheese Sauce.  Now, the first thing that came to mind, was to just make some grilled chicken, Jambalaya rice, mac 'n' cheese and some sort of veggie.  Then I thought, that's too much work, and I don't feel like making that many different dishes on a Friday night.  So, back to the pantry I go and then I spot a can of Sloppy Joe sauce, and the rest is history.

This is such an easy recipe and quite tasty I might add.  I didn't know how well the cheese sauce and sloppy joe sauce would go together, but I will definitely be making this again.  So, without further ado:

Triple Cheesy Sloppy Joe Pasta

1-15oz Can of Sloppy Joe Sauce
1-1lb Jar of Double Cheese Sauce (I used Ragu)
1lb Elbows Pasta (Regular elbow macaroni will work as well, and probably any other pasta you have on hand.)
1-2lbs Ground Beef
1/2 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1/4 Cup Sugar
1/2 tsp Salt (optional for use during pasta boiling)

1.  Brown ground beef in a skillet and drain the excess grease.
2.  Cook pasta as directed on the package.
3.  In your skillet over medium-low heat, combine the ground beef, the entire can of sloppy joe sauce and 1/2 jar of double cheese sauce and mix until combined.
4.  Add the sugar and mix well.  (The sugar takes a little bit of the tangyness out of the sloppy joe sauce.)  Yes, I know that tangyness is not a word, but I couldn't think of another word I wanted to use there.  :-)
5.  In a large bowl, mix your meat sauce with your elbow pasta, top with shredded cheese and hoila, you're all done.

Serve with some crackers or bread and and you've get an easy meal in less than an hour.  Gotta love it!!!

There you have it, another quick and easy recipe that's getting added to my list.  Hope you enjoy.
